Meraas Holding
Meraas was established in Dubai in 2007 and became part of Dubai Holding in June 2020, following a directive from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. It now sits within Dubai Holding Real Estate alongside Dubai Properties, in a group chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and which also took in Nakheel and Meydan in March 2024. It is a master developer as much as a homebuilder, responsible for several of the city's destination districts as well as the homes inside them, with work spanning real estate, retail, hospitality and leisure.
What Meraas builds
Waterfront and urban destination communities plus suburban villa enclaves — apartments, townhouses, villas and beachfront residences — generally in the upper-mid to luxury tier, with ultra-prime launches at the top end. It is associated with Bluewaters, City Walk, La Mer, Port de La Mer, Madinat Jumeirah Living, Design Quarter at Dubai Design District, Nad Al Sheba Gardens and The Acres.
Meraas has been completing large mixed-use destinations in Dubai since the early 2010s, including City Walk, La Mer, and Bluewaters, which was announced in February 2013 and opened in stages from 2018, with Ain Dubai following in October 2021. Buyers are dealing with a government-backed developer with more than a decade of delivered projects and the balance sheet of Dubai Holding behind it. Individual phases of large master plans still shift, so confirm the handover quarter for the specific phase being sold.
