Azizi Developments
Azizi Developments is a privately owned Dubai developer established in 2007 by Mirwais Azizi, whose Azizi Group also holds banking interests, including Azizi Bank, founded in Kabul in 2006. The company stopped selling off-plan during the 2008 downturn, returned deposits to buyers who could not continue payments, and resumed construction in 2013. It has since become one of the highest-volume private developers in Dubai, with a large pipeline concentrated in a handful of master-planned communities.
What Azizi builds
Mostly mid-rise and high-rise apartment buildings in master-planned clusters, plus large lagoon and waterfront communities and a small number of villas and mansions within them, priced mainly in the mid-market to upper-mid bracket; concentrated in MBR City (Riviera), Dubai South (Venice), Al Furjan, Al Jaddaf and Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Sports City, Downtown Jebel Ali, Palm Jumeirah and Sheikh Zayed Road.
Azizi has been completing and handing over buildings in Dubai since 2016 — reportedly more than 2,000 units in Al Furjan from 2016 onwards, including Montrell, and Mina on Palm Jumeirah, handed over in March 2021 — so there is a real delivery record to examine rather than promises alone. On volume, the company announced 19 completed projects in 2024 and a 2025 programme of roughly 7,000 units across 25 projects; these are developer-stated figures reported in UAE trade press rather than audited or Dubai Land Department data, and they are not a guarantee for any individual building. The practical caution is phasing: Riviera and Venice are released as many separate buildings over several years, so judge the specific building rather than the brand, and check that building's RERA construction percentage and escrow account before committing.
